How to make phone calls without any landline phone.

THE SOLUTION:
In case there is no landline phone in your rented condo or house:
Since September 2017 we have got cell phones for FREE for you. Please get in touch asap with the caretaker of your rental unit to reserve a phone.

    RECOMMENDATION: Get a CELLION card for your smart-phone. Get it in Germany 2 weeks before departure!.

  2. VERY AFFORDABLE OPTIONS WITH A LAPTOP OR TABLET COMPUTER.

          It is assumed that it must exist a LAN or Wi-Fi Internet connection in the rental unit. Ask your landlord. If YES, go to (c).

          It is assumed that it must exist a Wi-Fi Internet connection in the rental unit. Ask your landlord. If YES, go to (c).

    (c) VIA SKYPE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH ANY LANDLINE OR CELL PHONE NUMBER AROUND THE WORLD
          Set up the program SKYPE on your computer while you are still at home. You can download SKYPE for free at www.TUCOWS.com and you should install it on your computer.
    1. With SKYPE (as generally known) you can "speak" from your computer to another one for FREE - if both parties are online. This SKYPE function is called FREE CHAT.
    2. Less well known is the SKYPE function CALL PHONE. To set up "CALL PHONE" you have to buy a "phone credit" of 10 Dollars by credit card. Now you can call via SKYPE any phone number WORLDWIDE - for very little money. For example, a call to Germany costs about 2 cents per minute. Since you "call" via the Internet so it does not matter whether to "call" from Berlin a landline number in Berlin or you are located in Hong Kong and you are "calling" from Hong Kong to Berlin. It always costs the same. This SKYPE function, we use basically when we are in a hotel in order to avoid the high telephone charges.
      RECOMMENDATION: For all short-term Renters is it a must!.

    (d) SKYPE GIVES YOU A REAL US-PHONE-NUMBER - EVERYBODY CAN CALL YOU
          This SKYPE function is called ONLINE NUMBER and costs about 10 Dollars per month. If someone is calling your US-Number and if you are online, you can answer the call directly via your computer. If you are offline, the caller can leave you a voice message OR you have programmed a forwarding to any other number in the World.

    RECOMMENDATION: For all long-term Renters (3 months or more)!.
